đŸ· Wine Wednesday

This week, we’re bringing you two bottles that couldn’t be more different—and we love them both for exactly that. One’s a silky, show-stopping Pinot that demands a moment of quiet awe. The other? A fizzy French pĂ©t-nat built for sunshine, seafood, and spontaneous celebrations. Together, they offer elegance, energy, and irresistible charm in every glass.

  • Williams-Selyem ‘Vista Verde’ Pinot Noir 2021 – This is the kind of wine that makes you pause mid-sentence. With notes of ripe cherry, wild strawberry, clove, and forest floor, it’s pure Central Coast Pinot—silky, layered, and hauntingly good. Imagine the fanciest red gummy bear you’ve ever had, only it’s grown up and made to pair with duck, mushroom risotto, or nothing at all. A true "wow" wine.

  • Autour de L`Anne ‘Wonder Womanne’ 2022 – A joyful pĂ©t-nat rosĂ© from Languedoc that lives up to its name. Dry, effervescent, and full of fresh berry, citrus, and herbal notes, it’s the kind of bottle that turns any moment into a mini celebration. Organic, woman-made, and totally crushable. Serve it with spicy poke, prosciutto-wrapped melon, or grilled shrimp and a breeze.

Two wines, two vibes—one for the quiet dinner party, one for the loud picnic. Which one are you popping first? đŸ„‚

From the expert, Jesse Drury

Tasting notes:
Ripe red cherry, wild strawberry, and hints of cranberry are layered with subtle notes of clove, cinnamon, and forest floor. The texture is silky with a lively acidity and a long, balanced finish.

This wine tastes like those ruby-red gummy bears—the really fancy ones that are all natural and somehow make you feel grown-up. It's sweetly tart, melts across your palate, and leaves you wanting another handful

Nose:
Fresh picked berries, mostly red fruit. Some thyme and earthiness. A whiff of forest floor.

Food pairing:
Duck, Herb Roasted Chicken, Mushroom Risotto, Camembert.

What makes this wine special?
I was in the middle of a busy service and had this wine for the first time. It made me stop and say, "oh wow" out loud. It's so good. The basic flavors are what you would expect from the area, but this is so much more than basic. It's excellent.

Excellent woman winemaker with a very fun and fresh sparkler.
